Challenge Brings in Over $20,000
June 7, 2010

It was truly a community event.  Residents of Concord, Carlisle, Maynard, Acton and Boxboro helped support local need at the 8th annual Challenge relay race on June 6th.  Over $20,000 was raised through the efforts of 180 participants and 50 volunteers.  Proceeds will help support 37 local human service agencies, programs and schools over the next 12 months.

The top fundraising team was the Concord Masters, winning the coveted golden paddle award for raising over $4100.  The Chest also acknowledged this year’s agency teams – Gaining Ground, Open Table, Concord Children’s Center and Carlisle Kids’ House – which will keep all funds raised over the $600 team fee.  Other winning teams included:

Fastest women’s team – Ms. Squitos

Fastest men’s team – Team Fenn

Fastest mixed team – Concord Outfitters

Fastest youth team – Mosquito Magnets

Fastest corporate team – SolidWorks Competitive

Fastest agency team – Gaining Ground

Fastest Maynard or Acton team – Crafty Racers (Acton)

Fastest Duo Team – CC Metco Runners

The Community Chest would like to thank all of the participants, volunteers and the following sponsors for making the Challenge a financial and community success.
