9th Challenge Raises over $10,000 for Local Need
June 6, 2011

The sun was shining on Sunday as the 9th annual Community Chest Challenge race took off in perfect formation.  More than $10,000 was collected in support of 38 charities, programs and schools that provide critical human services to residents of Concord and Carlisle.  The event was a financial success as well as a community achievement thanks to 150 enthusiastic participants and 30 hardworking volunteers.

The top fundraising team was the Concord Masters, winning the coveted golden paddle award for raising over $3,700.  This team was also awarded four Red Sox tickets, generously donated by Cambridge Savings Charitable Foundation.  Several local agencies fielded teams this year including Open Table, Carlisle Kids’ House, Gaining Ground and Concord Children’s Center.  Agency teams keep all funds raised over the $600 team fee.  Other winning teams include:
