Chest Awards Record Funding of $525,972 to Local Human Services after Surpassing Annual Goal!
June 17, 2009
The Community Chest awarded more than $525,000 to 36 human service agencies and initiatives last week at the Concord Town House. This money was raised during the Annual Campaign beginning in October 2008. The Concord-Carlisle Community Chest exceeded its campaign goal for 2008-2009 and therefore was able to give out record funding. Representatives from each organization accepted the awards from allocations leaders. Top business sponsors were also presented with special awards for long-standing financial commitment to the Community Chest: Cambridge Savings Charitable Foundation, Concord Hillside Medical Associates, Middlesex Savings Bank, and SolidWorks Corporation.
In addition to the award ceremony, the Chest’s annual meeting was held and the following new board members were elected to 3-year terms: Amanda Hickman, Wendy McNally, Maura Perkins, Mark Russell Prior and Bridget Saltonstall. Patty Popov and Valerie Kolligian Thayer were elected to second 3-year terms.
