Chest Launches Allocations
December 29, 2010
Every year since 1947, the Concord-Carlisle Community Chest has been supporting local need by providing funds to key human service organizations. The 2011 allocations cycle is now underway and agencies are invited to apply for funds through January 14, 2011. Organizations must serve residents of Concord and Carlisle, and be tax-exempt under the Federal tax section 501(c)(3). New applicants should call the Chest office at 978-369-5250.
The Community Chest employs a rigorous and thorough allocations process to ensure an equitable distribution of funds. A team of 32 local volunteers works together over the course of four months, reviewing applications, making site visits and recommending funding to the Chest’s board of directors. The allocations process assures donors that their contributions will be carefully applied to vital programs that address hunger, homelessness, education, domestic violence, legal services, and many other important areas. Final funding is determined in May when the majority of the annual campaign funds have been received.
This year’s campaign goal is $650,000 and the Chest has surpassed the 50% mark in contributions. Residents and businesses alike are urged to give to the critical work of more than 38 human service agencies with a single donation to the Chest. Gifts and sponsorships are gratefully accepted through the Chest’s secure website at www.cccommunitychest.org or by mail at 111 ORNAC, Concord, MA 01742. |
