The Concord Children’s Center provides quality year-round care and early childhood education for over 200 children in Concord. Programs serve infants, toddlers, preschoolers and after kindergartners at three locations, including a new privately-funded center adjacent to the Harvey Wheeler building in West Concord. Children are offered experiences that foster a positive self-image and help build the skills needed for growth in all aspects of development. Parents are confident that their children are secure in a nurturing and stimulating environment. Founded in 1975 by local parents the Concord Children’s Center is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. The center is licensed by the State Office of Child Care Services and accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. |
“Tuition assistance is
a huge help to our family. |
|
| The Community Chest helps local families who need child care by providing partial tuition assistance at the Concord Children’s Center and at other local preschools through the Concord Area Preschool Association. Single parents and working families benefit from knowing that their children are receiving quality preschool experiences that set them on a course for future success. Experts are increasingly aware of the importance of early childhood education and the crucial cognitive, emotional and social learning that takes place in a community of caring and learning. Addressing learning and behavior issues at an early age helps reduce the need for more costly intervention in later years. | ![]() |
