Since 1975, Minuteman Senior Services has helped seniors and family members find the information they need about eldercare. Minuteman promotes independent living and provides caregivers with the tools to meet the sometimes difficult responsibilities of caring for an aging parent. Minuteman Senior Services investigates reports of elder abuse, neglect and financial exploitation. The Elder-at-Risk program helps elders who neglect their own needs and who would not be able to remain safely in the community without intervention. The agency advocates for legislative and public policy changes that will improve the system of support for senior citizens. Each year more than 1,600 residents of Concord and Carlisle turn to Minuteman for assistance.

Both seniors and their caregivers rely on Minuteman Senior Services. People call for free information and referrals on everything from home care services to other alternative housing arrangements such as assisted living, here in Massachusetts and throughout the country. Experienced geriatric care managers can arrange for a variety of in-home services like Meals on Wheels, personal care, adult day care, laundry and grocery shopping. The SHINE program offers free, confidential counseling regarding health insurance options and prescription drug coverage and the Money Management Program helps seniors with bill-paying, budgeting and banking tasks. This range of services includes a free home visit to help sort out needs and learn about options.
