Concord-Carlisle Community Chest Launches adVentures in Philanthropy
Innovation Challenge Will Fund New Non-Profit Initiatives for Concord and Carlisle
The Concord Carlisle Community Chest is launching a new funding opportunity, adVentures in Philanthropy, a program to identify brand new ideas and innovations that meet human service needs in Concord and Carlisle. The program will grant up to $30,000 from the Chest’s Cornerstone Fund to launch these new initiatives. Inspired by the popular television show, Shark Tank, adVentures in Philanthropy is open to any 501c3 organization or program with a fiscal sponsor. Applications are due by November 14th, 2016.
The challenge will culminate at a community-wide event at The Fenn School on March 8th, 2017, where up to three finalists will present their ideas to a panel of community leaders and non-profit executives, in front of an audience. The panel will then decide how to distribute the funds. The event itself is designed to be entertaining and informative, and will be a great way for the finalists to showcase their organizations and ideas to a broader audience.
“We are very excited to see what ideas come from this program, as we believe our own community members are best positioned to identify needs in our communities,” said Karen Bechtel, Executive Director of the Concord-Carlisle Community Chest. “AdVentures in Philanthropy introduces a new way to continue the Chest’s tradition of spurring innovation in philanthropy, something we have done since 1947.”
