Betsy Wieland Veidenheimer, President
Betsy was raised in Concord. After graduating from Kenyon College, she spent five years in New York working on Wall Street in Institutional Equity Sales. She then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan Flagler School of Business where she earned an MBA. Betsy spent her post-business school career initially in financial services marketing and ultimately as an investor relations officer for two Fortune 500 companies before deciding to stay home with her two boys. Since then, she has been active in a wide variety of volunteer activities.
Penny Austen, Co-vice President
Penny moved to Concord from North Carolina and is a part-time freelance editor and full-time mom of three. A native of Ottawa, Canada, she received a Joint Honors B.A. from McGill University, and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Penny worked at SAS Institute, the leading business intelligence software provider, for six years, where she focused on marketing and strategy. Prior to joining SAS, Penny was a consultant with KPMG Peat Marwick LLP. She was also Business Development Manager at Angoss Software International, a data mining company located in Toronto.
Maura Lawton Perkins, Co-vice President
Maura is a relatively new resident to Concord, moving from Newburyport in 2006 with her husband and two children. She served as a volunteer on the Allocations Committee for two years. Prior to moving to Concord, she was on the Newburyport Retirement Fund Board for 10 years, a treasurer and trustee of the First Religious Society in Newburyport and president and treasurer of the Women’s Crisis Center (for battered women). She has a CFA and worked as an analyst at various Boston financial institutions before having children, including State Street Boston Corp and The Boston Company. She has an MBA from Babson College and a BA in Economics from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She is married to William Perkins, a partner at Loring,Wolcott and Coolidge in Boston.
Patty Popov, Co-vice President
Patty is a partner in a Boston private trustee office, Nichols & Pratt, LLP. She is also a trusts and estate lawyer, practicing as a partner of Pratt, Bator & Popov, LLP. Patty joined Nichols & Pratt in 2000. Prior to joining Nichols & Pratt, Patty practiced law for 10 years at Goodwin Procter in Boston. Her law practice includes creating and advising private family foundations. Patty served for 10 years on the Board of Trustees for Middlesex School and for 3 years on the Finance Committee for the Town of Concord. She grew up in Carlisle, Massachusetts, and now lives in Concord with her husband and their two children.
Martha Gilpatrick Wolf, Clerk
Marty is married and has raised three children. She is trained as a physician and works part-time in clinical research trials (both as clinician and regulator). Marty is involved in book groups and singing groups and has been a board member of other organizations (swim clubs, church, schools). She enjoys staying physically active and traveling.
Wendy McNally, Treasurer
Wendy is a resident of Concord where she lives here with her husband, John and two children. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S in Food Science and Nutrition. Her professional experience includes working for Bain & Company, and as a Mortgage Officer for Shawmut Bank. Wendy is a full time mother who has volunteered her time to various organizations. She served on the Board of the Children’s Meetinghouse Preschool, as secretary and Fundraising Chair, has helped with Thoreau PTG fundraisers, and has served on the Guild Board of Volunteers for four years at the Concord Museum. Wendy has Co-Chaired the Concord Museum’s Garden Affairs, a town wide event with over a hundred volunteers helping each year. She is a member of the Concord Garden Club and will be serving on the Board in the upcoming year. Wendy has also served on the Community Chest’s Auction and Allocations committees.
