Concord-Carlisle Community Chest – Associate Director, Donor Engagement

The Concord-Carlisle Community Chest engages our community to compassionately and actively advance the well-being of Concord and Carlisle residents by supporting a broad range of human service organizations. Through annual fundraising, events, and grant allocation process, the Community Chest understands the needs of the community and engages local resources to support nonprofits and continue to make our towns vibrant places to live.

The Associate Director, Donor Engagement will play a key role in the fundraising activities of the organization and be responsible for managing and implementing Community Chest marketing and communications. The ideal candidate is willing to work collaboratively with staff and board to continue to make the Community Chest a visible and regarded institution in the community. The Associate Director is an integral part of a small, collaborative team who reports to the Executive Director.

Status: Exempt position, 26 hours per week. In person with some hybrid. Occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Salary range $42,000-$48,000 a year. Interested candidates should send a resume and cover letter to jennifer@cccommunitychest.org

Responsibilities:
Development
● Work with ED and development committee to create and implement Annual Fund and overall fundraising plan
● In collaboration with ED and development committee, manage a portfolio of major
donors for cultivation and stewardship
● In collaboration with Development Assistant, responsible for fundraising analysis and donor lists
● Create annual fund letters and mailing lists; coordinate with printers and mail house
● Through communications, marketing, and event efforts, propose and execute cultivation and stewardship strategies to support major, annual, and prospective donors with conjunction with ED
● Business donor program
○ Cultivate and steward relationships with new and existing donors
○ Write grant proposals for existing and new businesses and foundations

Marketing and Communications
● Work with marketing committee and ED to develop marketing strategy
● Develop and write communications for the organization
○ Create content for annual report
○ Regular print and electronic newsletters
○ Ongoing social media and newsprint outreach
● Website management and maintenance
● Serve as a member and liaison to board committees as related to marketing, events, and development

● In collaboration with the events committee, develop event communication goals and
templates for fundraising & stewardship events

Other responsibilities
● Participate in other Community Chest leadership committees and board meetings as appropriate

Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree, 5-7 years work experience or equivalent, particularly in the areas of fundraising and marketing
● Strong communication skills, written, verbal, listening
● Understanding and experience with nonprofits important
● Fundraising experience, particularly with annual fund focus
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with databases, in particular Raiser’s Edge preferred
● Be able to engage and build relationships with colleagues, volunteers, donors, and the community at large
● Excellent organizational and collaborative skills
● Multi-tasking ability and interest in working in a small office environment
● Familiarity with the Concord and Carlisle communities is helpful
