Concord-Carlisle Community Chest Newsletter March 2013

Letter From the Office:

The saying “March comes in like a lion…” certainly is true here at the Community Chest as we have been busy on a variety of projects.  As you will see in the articles below, we will host a women’s luncheon this month and participate in a local West Concord philanthropic shopping event.  In addition, we have launched our legacy giving society, the Red Feather Circle, and partnered with the Concord Museum to promote a new Community Access Program at the Museum.

We engage in these activities without ever losing sight of our primary work – helping our neighbors in need.  Since our last newsletter, we felt fortunate to have the resources to help provide a local female domestic violence victim with temporary rent support as she regained financial footing after being laid off from her job.  It is for people like her and the clients of the agencies that we support that we strive to do our best.

Community Chest and Concord Museum Join to Launch New Program!
The Community Chest has partnered with the Concord Museum to facilitate the launch of the Museum’s recently created Community Access Program.  The program will make museum admission discounts available to clients and employees of agencies supported by the Community Chest.

As an effort to reach out more broadly to the Concord and Carlisle communities, this new program offers $2 admission tickets to local organizations interested in providing their clientele with these passes.  The passes are presented at the museum and the visitor pays $2.00.  The Community Chest and the Concord Museum hope that this new venture will make the museum more accessible to more of our local residents.

The Museum is open 362 days a year and offers changing exhibits and programs for families and adults all year long.  Regular admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 for children.  The new $2.00 discounted ticket is available for all ages.  Children under 5 are always free.  Any organization seeking information about the Community Access Program should contact Jenny Gratz in the Museum Education Department at (978)369-9763 x214 or
