About Us

Founded in 1947 as an organization of neighbors helping neighbors.

The mission of the Concord-Carlisle Community Chest is to engage our community to help neighbors in need. Local businesses and individuals share with us their philanthropic gifts of time, expertise, and financial resources. We translate that support into essential aid for individuals and nonprofit human service organizations serving residents in Concord and Carlisle. We’re the only organization responding to a wide spectrum of critical issues in Concord and Carlisle by addressing:

  • mental health
  • food insecurity
  • elder support
  • affordable housing
  • education
  • childcare and family services
  • physical disabilities
  • legal aid
  • domestic violence

A single donation supports multiple organizations and programs, delivering a holistic approach to an individual or family’s multifaceted needs. Since 2018, the Community Chest has invested more than $2.5 million back into our communities.

Vision

We envision a community committed to meeting all human service needs.

Mission

We support nonprofit human service organizations through our grant making process and targeted funding. We engage our community through opportunities to donate, volunteer, or participate in our community-wide events. We collaborate with our grant recipients to advance the impact and efficacy of their programs. We are here to make our community stronger and a welcoming place for all residents.

In addition to supporting nonprofit organizations financially, the Community Chest acts as a resource for the towns of Concord and Carlisle, through partnerships with town governments, local businesses, and community groups. New ideas and initiatives are always welcome. We are proud of both our tradition of caring and our responsiveness to the ever-changing needs of our community.
