CCACE provides opportunities for lifelong learning to the citizens of the school district and surrounding towns. It promotes and supports school and community learning projects that cannot be funded or presented in traditional ways. These include Instrumental Music School of Concord and Carlisle lessons, Driver Education classes, and a variety of continuing Adult Education classes.
The Community Chest Allocations Grant funding will provide financial aid to students in need so they can participate in the CCACE programs, particularly the Driver Education program, which receives the most requests for assistance.
While CCACE offers a variety of World Languages through Adult Education, it has yet to offer English Language Learner classes. Seeing an unmet need for local residents, CCACE intends to research curriculum and textbooks, train a teacher, and do community outreach to spread the word when the ELL class becomes available. Initially, the class will be at the Beginner level, intended for teens and adults. The Cornerstone Initiative Innovation Grant will be applied to a Summer Pilot program, which includes research costs and scholarship funds.
